Mind over matter

SITI Saleha (pic) is usually not keen on acting in horror movies. But when an opportunity to work with director Razaisyam Rashid (of Mandatori TV series) along with stars like Namron and Ameerul Affendi arose, she couldn’t say no.

She starred in Hamba Iblis, a horror telemovie which premiered on Astro this year.

“I had the chance to work with a great team. Plus, when I read the script, I loved it. So I thought why not,” she said during an interview in Kuala Lumpur.

What Siti didn’t like, however, was the creepy feeling she got while filming Hamba Iblis in Perak.

“My husband buat lawak (made a joke). He said don’t bring ‘things’ back. I told him not to joke about these things ... especially at 3am.”

It didn’t help that Siti’s manager made the same remark.

“She said ‘things’ will follow you home from a horror movie set. She told me not to mess around. I was disturbed lah,” the 28-year-old lamented. Thankfully, nothing happened on the 10-day shoot.

Siti has moved on to a more light-hearted project.

“After Raya, I will start shooting a 13-episode drama with Fahrin Ahmad. It’s a romantic comedy,” she offered.

Siti will celebrate Hari Raya with husband Lutfi Azhar, whom she married in July last year. She shared that they have set purple as the colour theme for their Raya outfits this year.

“This Raya will be different because I’m going to do the tradition of asking forgiveness from my husband. It’ll be our first time (spending Raya as a married couple). I’m sure he is really looking forward to that too.”

Will there be any tears? “No! Tears are only during acting,” she said with a laugh.
