Smallfoot
TALK about turning a myth upside down. In the animated feature Smallfoot, it is the yeti (aka Abominable Snowman, aka Bigfoot) that finds something he thought didn’t exist, a human. When Migo, a young yeti, tells his community that he saw a, erm, “smallfoot” – no one believes him, except for an underground group that has been collecting evidence. Wanting to prove that what he saw is real, Migo sets out to the great big world – going beyond his snowy village. In the film’s official synopsis, it describes Smallfoot as an all new story about friendship, courage and the joy of discovery. Other than the reversal theme, what is most interesting about the movie is it features original songs and that actor Channing Tatum is lending his voice as the adorable yeti. Other voice talents include James Corden, Zendaya, Common, Danny DeVito and Gina Rodriguez. Smallfoot is directed by Karey Kirkpatrick, and is based on the book Yeti Tracks by Sergio Pablos.
Smallfoot is scheduled to open at GSC cinemas on Sept 27.
