All set for South-East Asia
CRUISE lovers in Asia will be thrilled to know that the new ship Spectrum of the Seas will be unveiled in May 2019, going on its inaugural South-East Asia season.
This is the second time that Royal Caribbean International is deploying a brand new ship to Asia for homeporting, after more than a decade of introducing innovative cruise ships to the region.
The Spectrum is the first of the Quantum Ultra Class, with a total capacity for 5,622 guests and it is 347m long. It will overtake sister ships Quantum of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas, which are currently Asia’s largest.
The Spectrum comes with first-at-sea features like the Sky Pad, a virtual reality, bungee trampoline experience. For families, there is the two-level, 261sq m Ultimate Family Suite with an in-room slide to get from one level to the next. This spacious suite can accommodate up to 11 family members.
Guests onboard the 18-deck cruise ship can enjoy innovative new dining concepts. There are multiple restaurants offering cuisines from around the globe, including a huge three-level main dining room, Wonderland, Jamie’s Italian, Izumi Japanese, Sichuan Red and Leaf & Bean.
New to the fleet is Star Moment, a high-energy karaoke venue. Making a return are signature features like the North Star elevated glass capsule, RipCord by iFly skydiving simulator, FlowRider surfing simulator, Bionic Bar and more.
The cruise ship will offer the following itineraries from Singapore when it arrives next year:
> a 3-night cruise to Kuala Lumpur (Port Klang)
> 4-night cruise to Penang > 9-night cruise from Singapore to Shanghai
The Spectrum’s cruises are now open for sale at www.royalcaribbean.com.sg.
