Calling all aspiring lawyers

-

ADVANCE Tertiary College (ATC) is one of the largest private law schools in the region. Founded on the tradition of imparting genuine legal knowledge and excellence, ATC stands tall in maintaining high standards in its programmes – Cambridge University’s A-Levels (pre-U), University of London’s 3+0 LLB (undergraduate law degree) and the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP).

At ATC, the CLP course is viewed as an ideal platform to prepare undergraduates for legal practice in Malaysia.

Accordingly, its CLP course has been developed, structured and improved over the years to specifically cater to the demands and needs of the professional standards and prestige attached to the CLP Examination (CLPE).

It offers a balanced combination of lectures and tutorials with the prime focus of preparing students to pass the CLPE in their first attempt.

The CLP faculty is a dynamic mix of legal practitioners and academicians whose unwavering dedication and experience has contributed to the consistent passing rates of 70% for the past five years.

Besides guiding students through every detail of procedural and practical aspects of the law as emphasised in the syllabus of CLP, equal importance is placed on exposing students to effective examination techniques through interactive tutorial sessions and intensive revision programmes.

ATC believes it is never truly a fulfilling and successful endeavour if one merely studies for the CLPE without a shift in mindset.

Legal undergraduates embarking on the CLP course need to rise above their LLB mode of study and experience the practice.

It is this transition in mindset that ATC seeks to cultivate and achieve among its CLPE candidates.

Driven by this aim, ATC’s Kuala Lumpur campus will kick-start the upcoming intake of the CLP course by organising the fourth instalment of its own Legal Careers Fair on Aug 18.

Like previous years, this year’s Careers Fair will see the coming together of prominent law firms in town, among others Messrs. Shearn Delamore & Co, Izral Partnership, Albar & Partners, and Rahmat Lim & Partners.

All participating law firms will be setting up booths during the fair to facilitate interested students to meet and discuss possible career opportunities, internship and/or pupilage positions.

The Legal Careers Fair is held to provide all aspiring lawyers some familiarity of the rich tradition of the legal profession and raise awareness of the extensive areas of legal practice graduates can venture into.

Admission for the two-hour fair is is free. All students and the public are welcome.

ATC’s Legal Careers Fair will be preceded with a preview on its CLP course from noon to 2pm. Intakes for all programmes (A-Levels, LLB and CLP) at both KL and Penang campuses are currently in progress.
