My jolly party

-

We all love a jolly good party. Most of us would throw birthday parties, and make memories with our family and friends. We’d eat, dance and sing all day long.

Did you know that the number of people who celebrate their birthdays in August is higher than that in any other month?

Recently Starchild asked readers to send in letters to the topic: My Party.

Let’s hear what they have to say.

“I wish to host a birthday party for my friends one day, which will be a beach-themed party. There will be a bouncing castle and rainbow slides. We will swim all day and have fun in the sun,” said Natalie Ang XinYan, seven.

Poh Tze Shuen, 12, looks back at the time she had her birthday celebrations earlier this year. She writes, “When I hosted my birthday party, I was very pleased. I celebrated with my family and friends and received a lot of gifts. My mother prepared a lot of delicious food for us.”

Six-year-old Loshana Laksmi Mathuraganapathy says, “I’d have all my friends from kindergarten at my birthday party. I’d like a delicious cake and a big pink pinata filled with candy.”

Ken, 12, says: “My friend is a big fan of football, therefore I’d organise a football-themed party for him. I’d also invite his favourite football stars to come to the party.”

Nine-year-old Gideon Immanuel Andrew David thought of surprising his younger brother on his birthday.

“I’d decorate the house with colourful balloons and help my mother bake his favourite cupcakes. We’d also buy a big cake, some sweets and a remote control toy car as his birthday present.”

Bethany Hema Bala, 12, would like to try something new for her party. “Because I have never celebrated Halloween, my party would be a Halloween-themed party. My friends and I would dress up and decorate the house.”

“Christmas is my favourite holiday and I hope to host a Christmas party one day. I’d ask my parents to decorate the house with a Christmas tree and colourful lights. Beneath the tree would be gifts for all my friends,” says Bernard Jude Andrew David, seven.
