Shades of love

- By USHA ARCHENDRAN

WHAT is love actually?

Is it just within yourself? Can you feel, touch or hear it? Or maybe find it on a shelf.

Love is a beautiful emotion, With words, hard to describe, Also the reason behind smiles, Like the smiles of a beautiful bride.

But is love just between lovers? There’s love far more wild, The strongest perhaps, I’d say, The love of a mother for her child.

What about daddy who’s always stern?

Does he love his kids so dear? Yes, of course he does,

No harm he’ll let come near.

World’s weirdest love belongs I would definitely say, to siblings, For a second we’d love them dearly,

The next, we’d be strangling.

The love between friends, Is the most unlikely type of all, No one is blood related,

Yet is loved, short or tall.

The love of God to us,

Is so divine and so true,

It’s to Him we always turn, When our days are really blue.

The love we give to a stranger, Is something very peculiar, They are not family nor a lover, But is loved so very dear.

How about the love within yourself?

Do you love yourself enough? You might want to give it a thought,

You need it when days are rough.
