Easing pain in the joints
KEVIN Ismail, 54 experienced mild joint discomfort while cycling about three years ago. Over time, the stiffness in his knee joints persisted. Kevin tried glucosamine supplements but to no avail as the pain became harder to bear. He had to resort to painkiller medications every now and then.
Although he had no intention of relying on painkillers for the long term, he had no choice as trying to cope with joint pain daily would be much worse.
This type of joint pain is a hallmark of arthritis, a joint disease of which osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common form.
The most widely used painkiller medication to manage joint pain comprises non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). However, although NSAIDS help to relieve joint pain, numerous human and animal studies now show that these painkillers contribute to the acceleration of joint degeneration. Patients on NSAIDs are also found to require joint replacement surgery sooner than those who do not take them.
These findings are on top of the risk of taking NSAIDs for the long term, which has been associated with risks of heart attacks, strokes and bleeding, especially among individuals who have diabetes, gastritis or cardiovascular risks.
In 2006, Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI) formed an international committee to review all relevant guidelines and scientific evidence for the treatment of osteoarthritis and advised against long-term use of NSAIDs as a treatment.
If patients cannot rely on NSAID painkillers to relieve their joint pain, what else can they turn to? Fortunately, the answer may be provided by nature in the form of lanconone – a proprietary formula of seven authenticated Ayurvedic herbs culminated from decades of research.
The seven herbs are Commiphora mukul (Indian bdellium-tree), Boswellia serrata (Indian olibanum), Withania somnifera (Indian ginseng), Oroxylum indicum (Indian trumpet tree), Smilax china (China root), Pluchea lanceolate (Rasna) and Zingiber officinale (ginger).
What is unique about the herbs within lanconone is that only precise parts of the herbs in an exact ratio that exhibit pain relief and joint supportive recovery are used.
Not only that, clinical studies were performed directly on lanconone, where its actions were compared to the painkiller NSAID (ibuprofen) among patients with arthritis.
Results published in the journal Trials in 2016 showed lanconone worked just as quickly and effectively in relieving joint pain minus the side effects.
lanconone was also shown to support joint recovery – patients in the study regained increased mobility and ability over three months.
This proprietary herbal formula can be added to any joint treatment regime as it complements every other joint product.
As arthritis is a complex joint disease, patients may often require more than one joint formula. lanconone has been shown to influence no less than 16 different inflammatory pathways attributed to arthritis progression.
By taking two capsules twice a day, lanconone provides joint pain relief besides supporting recovery of the joints. lanconone is especially useful for patients who may be on other medications as they are already bearing the burden of their medications on major organs. Vegetarians as well as patients allergic to NSAIDs may also take lanconone.
Kevin found out about lanconone at the pharmacy and decided to give it a try. A few days later, Kevin noticed the stiffness in his knees had lessened considerably. Over the following weeks, the pain in his knees reduced and three months later, Kevin resumed his cycling outings with his friends.
