GLOBAL EYE
SUSTAINABLE inspiration can come from many places. Narayana Peesapaty from Hyderabad, India, set up the company Bakeys which has developed a smart and tasty way to eliminate the use of single-use plastic cutlery. He has literally made edible cutlery. The fork and spoon are made of a rusk biscuit that comes in a range of delicious flavours. You just have to remember to wait until the end of the meal before you eat them!
If you want to try this at home, there is a gadget called ediblespoonmaker which makes a spoon in three minutes. If you want to do this in a traditional oven – there are lots of recipes on the Internet. You just need to find a spoon shape cutter, and crush a small ball of silver foil to create the bulge of the spoon.
