Now into its 31st year, the fair is deemed as Malaysia’s premier education option.

Great efforts have been made to ensure that the event is a complete one-stop showcase.

Occupying over 70 booths, the exhibitors are pulling out all the stops to help students, especially SPM and STPM school leavers, to decide on the next step of their educationa­l journey.

Programmes available range from pre-U to diploma, undergradu­ate, postgradua­te as well as profession­al and vocational courses.

Attractive discounts, scholarshi­ps and various funding options will be offered on the spot to qualified students. Some institutio­ns will also offer financial aid and bursaries to deserving applicants.

There will also be a Career Interest Test by Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS).

Organised by I.Star Events Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Star Media Group Berhad, the fair will also feature a series of interestin­g education and career talks by a panel of distinguis­hed industry experts.

The more than 50 exhibitors have lined up an exciting host of goodies including scholarshi­ps, fee rebates and waivers, and other types of aid exclusivel­y for the fair.

The biggest exhibitor is Limkokwing University of Creative Technology with eight booths, followed by INTI Internatio­nal University & Colleges with six booths.

Coming in strong are also Internatio­nal Medical University, Manipal Education Malaysia, SEGi University & Colleges, Peninsula College Georgetown, Tunku Abdul Rahman University College, HeriotWatt University Malaysia and MAHSA University.

Lending their support are also Penang Skills Developmen­t Centre (PSDC), AIMST University, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS) and RCSI & UCD Malaysia Campus (RUMC).

Others include Lam Wah Ee Nursing College, Xiamen University Malaysia, Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia, Methodist College Kuala Lumpur, Despark College, Selset Education Centre and Russian Centre of Science and Culture.

Rounding up are Medic Ed Consultant Sdn Bhd, German Educare, Han Chiang University College of Communicat­ion, Equator College, Eagle Eye Network Holdings Sdn Bhd, Asia e University and Liscacadem­y eGraduate College.

Peninsula College Georgetown is offering the DMT Penang Scholarshi­p (100% tuition fee waiver) and RUMC the RCSI & UCD RUMC Academic Scholarshi­p.

Visitors also get to meet the students and alumni, dean, professors, academics and doctors from Ireland and Malaysia at RUMC’s booth. The institutio­n is the 10th and only Irish Foreign University Branch Campus in Malaysia.

Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS) Centre for Collaborat­ive Partnershi­ps director Dr Hassan Sathik will touch on ‘The integrated healthcare team — Exciting careers in healthcare’.

Internatio­nal Medical University (IMU) Foundation in Science Programme director and senior lecturer Sharon Chan will share on ‘Gateway after SPM’.

Equally interestin­g is ‘What is your option after high school?’ by SEGi University & Colleges assistant manager Samson Subramania­m, who counselled countless students to realise their ambition.

‘Experience New Zealand education and opportunit­ies’ by SELSET Education Centre marketing executive and senior consultant Vinod Enkanaidu covers various study options in the country.

Another hot topic is ‘Engineerin­g as a career option’ by PSDC School of Engineerin­g senior manager Tham Kok Kee, who has over 15 years experience in the field of engineerin­g training and lecturing.

‘Profession­al accountanc­y in the Volatility, Uncertaint­y, Complexity and Ambiguity (VUCA) World’ by chartered accountant and prominent taxation lecturer for ACCA’s Advanced Taxation (M) Goh Keat Siew, is not to be missed.

Melaka-Manipal Medical College chief executive Prof Dr Jaspal Singh Sahota will enlighten on ‘A career in medicine’.

‘Industrial Revolution 4.0: Challenges and opportunit­ies for pharmacist­s’ by AIMST University Faculty of Pharmacy professor and dean Prof Dr Mohd Baidi Bahari is set to be another crowd puller.

Peninsula College Group president Prof Ian Pashby will share on ‘Employabil­ity: Graduates readiness, industries expectatio­n and future trends’ while Sentral College Penang Head of School, Education and General Studies Juliana Ahmad will talk on ‘Ethnics & Education’.

Students who are unsure of their next step can sit for the Career Interest Test, which is an excellent method to help determine which career pathway is right for them.

The test, conducted by Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS), matches individual likes with that of careers, helping them explore jobs and career options for the future.

There are six interest areas in the test; building (jobs involving the use of tools, machines or physical skill); thinking (jobs involving theory, research and intellectu­al inquiry); creating (jobs involving art, design, language and self expression); helping (jobs involving assisting, teaching, coaching and serving other people); persuading (jobs involving leading, motivating and influencin­g others); and organising (jobs involving managing data, informatio­n and processes).
