Gearing up for a bright future

-

At Quest International University Perak (QIUP), the focus is on creating employees who will not only survive but thrive in this employment climate. the goal is to develop graduates who become prime job market targets once they step off the convocation stage.

the job market has never been more competitive, and QIUP wants its graduates to stand out. they must leave the university equipped with a high-quality education and extra-curricular skills.

As one of the fastest growing universities in Perak, QIUP aims to be more than a degree mill – in line with the vision of its council chairman Datuk Seri Dr Vijay Eswaran.

“Employers want to hire candidates who have the education and skills to make an immediate impact in an organisation,” asserts QIUP chief operating officer Nicholas Goh.

“the job market will be filled with candidates who all have similar qualifications ... QIUP’s programmes are designed to reflect industry demands, and the goal is to create graduates who are immediately job-ready.”

A prime example of this is the university’s new fluid curriculum concept for two engineering programmes – the Bachelor of Electronics Engineering (Communication) with Honours and the Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering with Honours.

there is usually only one semester of industrial attachment in a four-year bachelor’s degree engineering programme. However, QIUP’s new curriculum will offer a yearly industry attachment from the very first year.

the same principle of creating job-ready students extends to QIUP’s culinary arts programme, where students utilise a stateof-the-art kitchen, an in-house bakery and fine dining restaurant to polish their skills.

For those fascinated by communication, QIUP also offers an in-house recording studio equipped with some of the latest gear.

the modern curriculum used by QIUP’s Faculty of Medicine is also augmented by state-of-the-art laboratories and infrastructure, where students can hone their skills.

QIUP’s interim campus is strategically located in Ipoh, Perak. the university offers a conducive learning environment with affordable living costs.
