BERJAYA University College (Berjaya UC) offers two postgraduate programmes – the Master of Science (MSc) in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and Master of Business Administration (MBA).

The MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management was strategically designed to meet industry needs as well as the demand for graduates in corporate initiatives such as One Belt One Road.

“The programme consists of several core subjects: Research Methodology and Analysis, Global Information and Communication Technology Management, Strategic Procurement Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Transportation Management and Strategic Management,” says Emeritus Prof Walter Wong, vicechancellor and chief executive of Berjaya UC.

“The institution has appointed Assoc Prof Lai Ving Kam as head of programme. He has more than 45 years of experience in cross-border global management and managed supply chain operations in many countries, including Malaysia, China, Germany, the United States and the United Kingdom.

“Being a manufacturing system engineer by profession, I see the whole process as a connected web rather than a linear chain. We are living in a world where people are engaged in business that crosses international boundaries. With the global nature of business in mind, the programme was designed to implement innovative strategies with the understanding that every product that comes to the market is a result of the effort of various organisations.

“By enrolling in the MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, current industry professionals would add value to their skills by gaining understanding of new frameworks to manage risk, deliver superior managerial performance and align core processes for operational excellence on a global scale.”

The MBA programme is benchmarked against the best practices of a successful, diversified business conglomerate – Berjaya

Corporation. Specialisations are offered in the areas of international business, logistics and supply chain management, international hospitality and international tourism.

Berjaya UC’s MBA students are equipped with skills that are transferable to new roles, giving them an edge over their peers. Berjaya Business School’s curriculum is industry-driven and its courses are up-todate with industry trends. The school has a strong team and regularly invites established industry leaders to share their wealth of knowledge and experience and present them as case studies for our students.

Prof Wong says, “An MBA provides graduates with strategic acumen, critical and analytical thinking skills and a new, holistic and fresh perspective to take on leadership roles in an organisation. The programme is one of the most significant degrees in the world, often favoured by employers who are seeking to fill managerial positions in leading organisations across industries.

“It provides graduates with strong and up-to-date analytical, technical, management, entrepreneurial and innovative know-how to challenge the business world. We encourage professionals to obtain an MBA to be great leaders in business and take their careers to greater heights.”

Berjaya UC is working to make higher education more accessible, affordable and attainable for everyone. The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) education financing scheme is applicable for Malaysian citizens and Berjaya UC scholarships are available for both Malaysian and international students.
