Kick off your global business career
INTERESTED in getting a head start to a global career in accounting, finance, real estate or business? The renowned Henley Business School at University of Reading’s Malaysia campus is the ideal place to start.
Established in 1945, Henley Business School is one of the oldest business schools in Europe and among an elite group of business schools to have triple accreditation from Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, EFMD Quality Improvement System and Association of MBAs.
Located at the University of Reading’s stunning new Malaysia campus in EduCity in Iskandar Malaysia, Johor, Henley Business School now offers students the best of both worlds – the opportunity to study for a prestigious United Kingdom business degree following the UK curriculum, at significantly lower cost compared with going to the UK.
For those interested in accounting and finance, Henley has partnered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), one of the industry’s most respected professional bodies, in a unique collaboration called the HenleyICAEW Programme (HIP).
With HIP, students graduate with three qualifications rather than one. Students not only get a BSc Accounting and Finance degree from Henley Business School, they get the ICAEW Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business as well as the Business and Finance Professional designations, which can be used after their names.
Students also benefit from a full 12-month work placement in Year 3, during which they gain valuable work experience and are put on a fast track to receiving ICAEW Association of Chartered Accountant status.
Another popular choice at Henley is the BSc Finance and Business Management. Modules cover finance specialisms such as international financial accounting, corporate finance, portfolio management, derivatives and securities. Students can develop skills in financial trading using trading simulation software in the school’s state-of-the-art dealing room, which is one of a kind in Malaysia. Other core subjects of business management such as marketing, international business and organisational behaviour are also studied.
Henley Business School’s BSc Real Estate is ranked No.1 in the UK for property management. Real estate is the world’s largest asset class and there is significant demand for qualified real estate professionals in areas such as real estate investment, asset management, property management, valuation and consulting.
Students can benefit from the school’s close ties with industry partners such as JLL, Savills and CBRE, and many students receive multiple job offers upon graduation. Qualified real estate professionals also have global career options with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors recognition.
If you’re a Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia holder, the school recommends that you enrol in the University’s International Foundation Programme (IFP) and complete the Foundation in Business, which allows you to progress directly to Henley Business School. IFP intakes are in April and September.
Alternatively, apply for direct entry to the undergraduate programmes with a foundation in business, A-Levels or any other suitable qualification. The next direct-entry intake is in September and January.
