Aim for the stars
THE journey towards securing a bright career can be made smoother by signing up for First City University College’s bachelor degree programmes.
With nearly 30 years of experience, First City UC offers quality programmes across its three faculties: the Faculty of Design and Built Environment, Faculty of Business, Hospitality and Communication Studies and Faculty of Engineering and Computing.
Strengthened by accreditation by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency, First City UC can attest to having produced highly employable graduates, most of whom were offered jobs even before graduation.
This achievement is largely due to First City UC’s well-developed and industryrelevant curricula, along with a team of dedicated lecturers with years of teaching and industrial experience.
Faculty of Design and Built Environment
The three-year BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing aims to empower fashion enthusiasts to market and brand their own fashion products. Students will be given the opportunity to explore all aspects of fashion marketing and branding by applying their own ideas across a range of marketing and branding contexts and disciplines.
Upon completing this programme, graduates can apply for positions such as fashion designer, sales designer, brand designer, exhibition designer, clothing designer, retail manager, fashion merchandiser, visual merchandiser and stylist, among others.
Faculty of Business, Hospitality and Communication Studies
The three-year BA (Hons) Entrepreneurship programme aims to train students to evaluate concepts and think critically to respond to a changing environment flexibly. It also enables students to acquire the leadership skills needed to motivate others towards achieving a common business goal.
Students looking to join global businesses or organisations are encouraged to sign up. Over the course of the programme, they will be exposed to the complexities of working in an international setting and learn important aspects of international business.
Graduates can seek jobs such as international trade and investment analyst, international marketing director, multinational manager and business development director.
Students of both programmes can also opt to apply for CIM (The Chartered Institute of Marketing) membership at student price. This is encouraged as they will benefit from networking opportunities as well as learning materials.
Students looking for a way into the media and communications industries should sign up for the BA (Hons) Mass Communications programme. During the three-year course, students will be taught to interpret social, cultural, global, legal and ethical issues affecting the media and communications industries. Moreover, students will develop key soft skills, which will aid them in securing jobs.
Faculty of Engineering and Computing
Throughout the four-year Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honours programme, students will learn to apply mathematical, scientific and engineering knowledge in solving complex engineering problems and also be able to comprehend engineering and management principles and practise them through group projects.
Meanwhile, the Bachelor of Electronic Engineering with Honours programme will acquaint future electronic engineers with concepts such as circuitry, control systems, signal processing and electronic system design. During this four-year programme, students will also learn to engage in independent lifelong learning.
These knowledge and skills will prepare graduates for job positions such as integrated circuit design engineer, software engineer, telecommunications engineer and firmware engineer.
Parents will not have to worry about the cost of quality education as their children can apply for the PTPTN loan. Students are also welcome to apply for the First City UC Merit Scholarship, Office Bearer Scholarship, Sports Scholarship or Bursary Award.
While some graduates may choose to complete their studies with a bachelor degree, others can choose to continue with First City UC’s postgraduate programmes. Bachelor degree alumni will enjoy 15% off their first semester upon signing up for any of the master degree programmes.
