Musical treat with Kenangan Manisku

-

DURING the holy month of Ramadan, the sights and sounds of Raya can be felt throughout the nation.

This is also when people start to prepare to balik kampung to reunite with family and friends.

To commemorate the festive period, the Curve will evoke fond memories through its campaign themed Kenangan Manisku, taking place now until June 6.

Paying tribute to the joy and nostalgia of simple kampung life, the Kenangan Manisku Musical is set to enchant patrons as it re-enacts the merriment of Raya celebrations in an authentic Malay kampung.

The live musical starts out with performers playing traditional games and enjoying the serene outdoors with friends and family.

The second half of the show will see the dancers prepare for the festivities with song and dance, decked out in glittering baju kurung and kebaya and sleek baju Melayu.

The musical is bound to tug on heartstrings as it tells the tale of togetherness, the importance of familial ties and memories of old times.

Complementing the quaint atmosphere will be the traditional Malay kampung house with its exterior decorated with illustrious details.

Vintage bicycles, as well as vibrant green shrubs, will add to the village scene.

A variety of traditional games such as congkak, baling selipar and batu Seremban will be available for patrons to try out and experience a slice of the past.

The Curve senior general manager, Jazmi Kamarudin said: “Nothing beats the joy and excitement of reuniting with family and friends when one balik kampung.

“The anticipation of the festive activities, preparation of delicious meals and rekindling ties with the older generation is something embedded in the spirit of Hari Raya. Try out some childhood games such as tarik upih, lompat getah and congkak.

“This year, we wanted to recreate this nostalgic memory for our patrons in a musical setting that evokes not only sweet memories but also for the younger generation and to shed light on the wonders of past traditions.

“We hope our patrons enjoy the Kenangan Manisku Musical and have a joyful Ramadan with us this year.”

Festive goodies are in store for patrons this Raya. Shoppers who spend a minimum of RM480 in a maximum of two receipts will be eligible to redeem a pair of Nostalgic Kole Air or spend RM180 in a maximum of two receipts to redeem festive Raya packets.
