SOFITEL Kuala Lumpur Damansara ushers in Ramadan by offering diners an authentic luxurious gourmet experience. The French luxury hotel brand has collaborat­ed with none other than Chef Datuk Ismail Ahmad to provide a feast that will please diners’ taste buds with the very best of traditiona­l Malay cuisine.

The buffet will also feature more than 180 delightful dishes including a mix of fresh seafood, Chinese, Indian, Japanese and Western favourites. The salad bar offers Pecal, Lawar Jantung, Rendang Pucuk Ubi, Kerabu Mangga Muda, Kerabu Taugeh and Kerang, Kerabu Daging Bakar, and more to whet your appetite.

Among the main courses are Ayam Percik Kelantan, Daging Salai Masak Lemak Cili Padi, Asam Pedas Ikan Pari, Sambal Udang Petai, Telur Itik Masak Lemak Cili Api among others.

In addition, the buffet will also feature one of Ismail’s most famous creations – Ayam Golek Istana, a traditiona­l royal dish.

There will also be live carving stations and grill sections. For dessert lovers, indulge in a wide variety of heavenly local Malaysian delicacies like Pulut Durian and Seri Muka, Cendol, assorted cakes, and pastries, just to name a few.

“We strive to elevate guests’ dining experience as much as possible by using fresh ingredient­s and traditiona­l cooking methods to retain the original taste of each dish. Apart from that, the best recipes are still patience and cooking from the heart,” said chef Ismail.

Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara general manager Franck Loison said: “This year, we prepared our menus to focus on popular dishes from all over Malaysia. These are traditiona­l Malay dishes prepared homecooked style, and with the help of chef Ismail, we want to transport our guests to the kitchens of homes in Malaysia.”

Meanwhile, Sofitel executive chef Kim Gates said: “Though he has a hectic schedule to stick to, chef Ismail spent three days with my team and I, sharing some of his greatest tips, tricks and cooking technique for our preparatio­n.”

He added that there will be a rotation of menus throughout the month.

Besides offering an assortment of tantalisin­g delicacies, the feast boasts live gamelan performanc­e. surau facilities are available for Muslim guests as well as ample parking spaces.

From now until June 4, the buffet prices are RM188 nett per adult and RM94 nett per children.

If you are looking for the perfect hampers for your colleagues, family, and friends, Sofi’s Deli offers delectable home-made cookies, cakes and classic Ramadan delicacies such as baklava and a wide selection of premium dates.

The hampers will be made available until June 10 and priced from RM200 nett onwards. The sahur set is available daily throughout the fasting month for in-house Muslim guests, priced at RM85 nett per person from 2am to 5am.
