Mercedes-AMG line-up expands
MERCEDES-BENZ Malaysia (MBM) has raised the bar for high-performance luxury cars in Malaysia with a trio of AMG-powered rides at the Sepang International Circuit recently. The new additions are the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+ costing RM1,798,888 (on-theroad without insurance), the two-door Mercedes-AMG C 63 S Coupé priced at RM820,888 and the four-door Mercedes-AMG C 63 S sedan costing RM768,888.
The three cars are fully-imported and are equipped with a powerful 4.0-litre (3,982cc) twin-turbo V8 engine.
The units in the C 63 S Coupe and C 63 S sedan produce 510hp and 700Nm of torque while that in the GT 63 S is tuned up to 639hp with 900Nm of torque.
Transmission is a nine-speed AMG Speedshift Multi-Clutch Technology 9G automatic that allows the C 63 S sedan to sprint from 0 to 100kph in 4.0 seconds (Coupe 3.9 seconds) and onwards to 290kph.
The GT 63 S, on the other hand, shaves the time down to 3.2 seconds with a top speed of 315kph.
Furthermore, the new cars - like all vehicles from Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, are covered by a four-year warranty (two-year manufacturer and two-year in-country extended warranty) with unlimited mileage and Service24h Roadside Assistance service.
An extended Limited Warranty Programme for one or two-year plans are also available and comes with unlimited mileage as well.
Inspired by the two-door Mercedes-AMG GT, the all-wheel driven four-door AMG GT 63 S comes as standard with a host of AMG packages that include an Aerodynamics package, Carbon-Fibre package, Night package, light display and a performance exhaust system - all designed and honed in Afalterabach, Germany.
The GT 63 S rolls on 21-inch AMG lightweight forged wheels that partially obscure the yellow-painted performance brake callipers and cross-drilled discs and have been further equipped with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus for the multibeam LED headlights and sunroof.
Other items include the AMG Ride Control+ suspension system, AMG Dynamic Plus package and the AMG Dynamic Select system.
Inside, the cabin has been accented by matt carbon-fibre trim and have been fitted with a multi-function sports steering wheel (with centre marker) wrapped in Dinamica microfibre, Nappa leather and Dinamica microfibre combination upholstery, powered sports seats with memory function and an Air-Balance package.
Furthermore, the cabin also features keyless-entry with push-start button, automatic Thermotronic climate controls, photochromic rear view mirror, yellow seat belts, heads-up display, Widescreen digital cockpit, touchpad, wireless charging (front and rear), and illuminated door sill panels with AMG lettering.
Other features include an AMG Track Pace (lap-timer), Driving Assistance package, EasyPack tailgate, tyre pressure monitoring system, handsfree boot operation and Tirefit (tyre repair kit).
Entertainment comes from a Burmester surround sound system with Apple CarPlay, Comand Online, 360-degree camera view camera system, Active Distance Assist Distronic and Active Parking Assist with Parktronic.
The C 63 S sedan gets key features such as the 19-inch forged lightweight wheels with a cross-spoke design that partially hide the red callipers, panoramic sunroof, Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, multibeam LED for the front headlights and power folding wing mirrors.
Also included are the exterior carbon-fibre package, night package, sports tyres, spoiler lip and performance exhaust system from AMG.
Inside, the cabin is accented with carbon-fibre and light longitudinal-grain aluminium while the AMG two-tone red pepper and black Nappa leather take care of the upholstery.
The powered front sports seats have fourway lumbar support with memory function and heating and the AMG performance multifunction steering wheel gets wrapped in a combination of leather and Dinamica microfibre.
There is also a heads-up display as well as a touchpad controller to navigate through the menus on the 10.25-inch Media display or view the outside world from within the car via the 360-degree camera system while the driver gets a 12.3-inch full-digital instrument display.
Also included are an analogue clock at the centre of the dashboard, Burmester surround sound system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Comand Online.
The Coupe variant has similar equipment with the sedan but other than the lack of two extra doors in comparison, its 19-inch lightweight forged wheels have a five twin-spoke design and it also features safety belt feeders. — JAY WONG
