-

TC Subaru, the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles in Malaysia, launched the new Subaru XV GT Edition. Priced at RM130,788 (on-the-road without insurance), the new XV GT Edition is based on the XV 2.0i-P variant and gets a specific exterior enhancements designed for Asian markets.

Externally, it has been fitted with newly designed 17-inch wheels and a body kit that consists of a front bumper lip extension with integrated canards, side skirts, roof spoiler and a rear bumper extension.

Inside, it gets new carpets, leather upholstery and a dual side view monitor system.

However, the new edition retains the familiar 2.0-litre direct-injected four-cylinder boxer petrol engine that delivers 156PS and 196Nm of torque.

Transmission is also a similar seven-speed Lineartronic continuously variable transmission with symmetrical all-wheel drive system (with X-Mode).

“The response in Thailand and The Philippines was very encouraging, having injected excitement in those markets, I hope our Malaysian customers will be delighted by the new Subaru XV GT Edition,” said Tan Chong International deputy chairman and managing director Glenn Tan.

Also, the company will be taking advance bookings at the end of the month for the fifth-generation Forester which has been earmarked to be launched in Malaysia in July.

The first 50 customers who book the new Forester will be brought on an allexpense-paid trip to Bangkok, Thailand in December and will also include a visit to the company’s new assembly plant. — JAY WONG
