Colouring fun!
CALLING all colouring enthusiasts! Bookfest@malaysia – that huge trilingual book expo that happens every year – is back along with its mega popular colouring competition for kids.
This year’s children’s colouring competition is themed “Assuredly Enriching” and will be held at the stage, Hall 5, of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on June 3. It has two categories: Category A for five- to eight-year-olds and Category B for nine- to 12-year-olds.
Registration for category A will be from 11am and 11.30am on June 3. This will be followed by the competition from 11.30am-1.30pm, and then the prize-giving from 2pm-2.30pm. After this, registration for category B takes place from 3pm3.30pm, followed by the competition from 3.30pm-5.30pm, and the prize giving from 6pm-6.30pm.
Each category will see first, second and third prize winners walk away with hampers and Popular gift vouchers. There will also be 20 consolation prizes of Faber Castell hampers worth RM100 each.
Participants in each category must use only Faber Castell colour pencils during the competition. Payment of RM8 is needed to obtain a registration form from selected Popular outlets by May 26. The first 150 participants will receive a goodie bag worth RM20 on the event day.

Not into colouring? How about becoming an Eco Warrior? The Little Eco Warriors Recycling Challenge will help budding ecologists foster their love for the environment.
The challenge takes place in the same location as the colouring contest but a day later, on June 4, from 11am-3.45pm. There will be five 45-minute sessions, each open to only 30 participants. Participants will be able to play three games, each designed to be fun and informative, sowing lessons about the importance of going green.
To enter the challenge, pay RM5 and redeem your Fun Pass at selected Popular outlets or at the event venue during Bookfest@malaysia. The first 150 participants aged between seven and 12 years old will receive a “Little Eco Warrior” badge, book, certificate and an exclusive gift, while stocks last.
