POST-SECONDARY students in the Penang have a new option this year when it comes to studying after their SPM or IGCSE. GEMS International School of Pearl City Penang is opening its doors to its first cohort of A-Levels students from September 2019.

The school has a mission of providing a holistic education with the aim of securing its graduates places at world-class universities. It does this through offering not only a wide range of A-Levels subjects but also through providing a depth of education through its International Award, Extended Project and bespoke careers guidance programmes.

The school also provides expert IELTS tuition as part of its standard offering, which helps pave the way to accessing English language universities across the globe.

As an international school, GEMS has a highly experienced teaching staff, who have undertaken specific A-Levels training provided by the Cambridge examination board.

Its principal Stephen Phillips said: “We are incredibly excited to be able to offer our A-Levels programme this coming September. We have been working tirelessly on recruiting and training the very best staff to deliver A-Levels at GEMS Pearl City.”

Students at GEMS Pearl City have the opportunity to study subjects including Maths, English, the Sciences, Business Studies, Economics, Computer Science, Geography, Art and Design, and Global Perspectives.

“GEMS is a huge global education company and as such, we at GEMS Pearl City are incredibly fortunate to be able to draw on the wealth of experience, knowledge and support that is available through the world-renowned educators employed by the company,” said Phillips.

“This support has manifested itself through the provision of one of the most generous scholarship packages that I have experienced in my 20 plus years of teaching.
