Cinematic magic

BULGARI pays homage to the cinematic world with a range of spellbinding high jewellery. Infused with a nearly magical craftsmanship, the Cinemagia collection captures all the wonder of the movies.

The Action! necklace celebrates 1885’s groundbreaking invention of celluloid roll film, which is evoked through a sinuous and flexible sophisticated construction hiding a spring mechanism.

This dynamic, exuberant piece, which required 800 hours to be fully assembled, is crafted from black-silver zirconium, a hyper resistant metal, which Bulgari first introduces in the high jewelry business.

Infused with a gentle, soft and supple effect, Action! is covered with glittering diamonds that look simply irresistible, making this necklace a must-have piece on the next red carpet.

Inspired by the magical capital of the Land of Oz of 1939’s American musical fantasy film Wizard Of Oz, Emerald City reveals a graphic, 3D diamond, emerald and mother of pearl pave, which enfolds the central 21.49 karat emerald stone.

Bulgari’s savoir-fair with colourful and brilliant gemstones is also fully expressed with Forever Emerald, a geometric necklace dominated by a showstopping 24.31-carat cabochon emerald.

“Step into a cinema, and, as if by magic, you’re transported to a dreamland. On the silver screen, possibility is infinite,” reads the statement by the brand, released to the media.

“With Fellini, you might journey to the center of Rome and the splendour of the Trevi Fountain. With Scorsese, you might time travel to another decade. Sometimes, a film sends you down the veritable rabbit’s hole to a realm of pure fantasy.”

The pure passion of the Italian maison has launched thousands of dreams. During the cinema’s “dolce vita” years in Rome, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton sealed their legendary romance with magnificent Bulgari jewels.

Descending upon Rome’s Cinecitta Studios in the 1950s, Hollywood turned the spotlight on Bulgari. Headlining luminaries from Audrey Hepburn to Anita Ekberg were said to have found its masterpieces simply irresistible.

Having since starred in over 40 films, Bulgari has a powerful legacy with daring female figures in cinema. From Ingrid Bergman in The Visit to Sharon Stone in Casino, it is linked to some of the most iconic moments in film.

It has also cemented some of the most memorable red carpet entrances. At the 2002 Oscars, Nicole Kidman dazzled in a custom rough-cut diamond necklace, a piece created in collaboration with the actress.

At the 2016 Oscars, all eyes were on Kiera Knightley’s vintage bib necklace, a sensational jewel originally created for the Shah of Iran to gift to his wife Princess Soraya.

Not forgetting, of course, Lupita Nyong’o’s riveting Met Gala look this year. In addition to a phenomenal emerald, amethyst, ruby and diamond necklace, the actress debuted a 10-carat, cushion-cut sapphire ring from the Cinemagia collection.

Bulgari’s relationship with the cinema has become a global affair as well. It has sponsored festivals such as the Berlinale, the Cannes Film Festival, La Biennale Di Venezia and most recently, the Shanghai International Film Festival.
