Getting real
An all-new documentary video-streaming service launched today offers exclusive access to more than 1,000 materials, including The Kleptocrats, which looks at the 1MDB scandal.
IF you have been looking for a platform that specialises in documentary movies and series, well, you’re in luck.
A new documentary video streaming service called iwonder (iwonder.com) launches today in Malaysia, featuring more than 1,000 documentaries from around the world.
Covering a vast range of topics – world affairs, politics, culture, sports and science, to name a few – iwonder boasts a library of critically acclaimed pieces, awardwinning materials and festival favourites.
If there’s one show Malaysians should check out immediately, it would be The Kleptocrats, a film that offers an insight into the investigation of the 1MDB fund, and the individuals allegedly behind the misuse of it – Jho Low and Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Another documentary to watch is Lost: MH370, that tries to find the answer behind the tragic disappearance of the jet airliner in 2014, which still remains a mystery five years later.
In a press statement, iwonder co-founder and CEO James Bridges said: “iwonder provides great entertainment along with the opportunity to learn something new about our ever-changing world. We work hard to find the best documentaries from all over the world so that our customers don’t have to.
“By keeping our finger on the pulse of daily global developments to fill our unique homepage newsfeed, the films we serve up are never far from the headlines... We’re excited to be able to bring iwonder to viewers in Malaysia looking to combine an appetite for entertainment with a thirst for knowledge.” iwonder was launched in Singapore, Australia and New Zealand earlier this year, and is now available in Malaysia as well as Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos.
The fee is RM20 per month or RM200 per year, with a one-month free trial. Go to iwonder.com for more information.
