TECHNOLOGY is widely used, especially in this era, and has helped people a lot in their daily lives. In order to create technology, we need engineers.
Engineering and technology are currently among the most in-demand areas which provide good career opportunities. Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Spanish Institute (UniKL MSI) provides programmes for engineers-to-be.
Since 2002, its campus in cooperation with the Spanish government has offered various courses for diploma and bachelor degrees in engineering technology. UniKL MSI specialises in mechanical, manufacturing and automotive engineering courses, including electrical and electronics.
At the diploma level, UniKL MSI offers four courses: the Diploma of Engineering Technology in Electromechanical Installation and Maintenance, Diploma of Engineering Technology in Mechanical Design and Development, Diploma of Electronic Engineering Technology (Industrial Automation and Control) and Diploma of Engineering Technology in Production.
The programmes equip students with the knowledge and capabilities needed to design and manufacture mechanical products, as well as current distribution installation.
UniKL MSI also offers the Bachelor of Engineering Technology programme in
Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Automotive and Applied Electronics. There is also the Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering with Honours offered at the campus at Kulim Hi-Tech Park.
The programme focuses on all types of mechanical systems design and development. It also deals with thermodynamics, heat transfer, structures and materials, fluid dynamics and advanced control systems.
Automotive engineering mainly focuses on the design, manufacturing and operation of engines and cars. It not only offers theoretical training but also practical application where the students will be able to experience machines and engines up close.
Moreover, students will be able to apply the skills learned so that they are well-prepared for the working world. Rather than focusing solely on their discipline or area of specialisation, they will also be exposed to other knowledge such as management, business practices, leadership and entrepreneurship as an added value.
Students are provided with practical and hands-on learning with the help of industrystandard facilities. UniKL MSI also emphasises communication skills through activities and programmes.
As it shares technology and expertise with Spain, UniKL MSI provides high-technology workshops and laboratories, with modern equipment, apparatus, machines and tools adapted from Spain.
The section houses consist of several laboratories and workshops, including the Material Engineering Laboratory, Thermal Laboratory, Fluid Mechanics laboratory, CAD/CAE Laboratory, Automotive labs, Design Development and Prototyping labs.
UniKL MSI is one of the UniKL campuses that offer full-time degree and diploma programmes.
