A STUDY by online travel platform Expedia says that when it comes to planning for trips, 72% of Malaysians spend a lot of their time researching for things to do on their travels while 66% read travel reviews.

However, planning a trip is not always easy, with the endless range of travel options available. These online travel platforms may speed up the process.

Zouba

Zouba is an online marketplace for discovering and instantly booking tours and activities worldwide.

With over 280,000 experiences in 3,300 locations to select from, travellers will be spoilt for choice.

“Planning a trip to a foreign city – especially if you don’t speak the native language – is one of the most challenging aspects of travelling. Sifting through the vast amount of information available online can often be a daunting task,” said Zouba chief product officer Prasanna Vee in a press statement.

From wine-tasting tours in Barcelona, Spain, to night-time excursions to Al-Khazneh in Petra, Jordan, whether you’re on a shoestring budget or looking for a bit of luxury, the options are diverse. Travellers can select their activities from Zouba’s trusted partners and make their bookings instantly.

“We want to give users a highly personalised discovery and booking experience. So instead of browsing through the endless list of tours and activities online, our system understands your choices and suggests travel options which we think you might like, from our ever-expanding database. We want to help you discover things you love based on your interests and passions, in the most convenient way,” said Vee.

Zouba is a subsidiary of GoQuo, a travel technology provider that enables airlines and hotels to earn more revenue by selling packages and ancillaries, including tours and activities.

Wonderfly

Wonderfly, an online booking platform for tour activities and services in Asia, recently launched a mobile app that allows users to discover and book attractions, including tickets to museums and theme parks at various locations in Malaysia.

The free app is available for both iOS and Android devices and comes in three languages: Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin.

Wonderfly CEO and co-founder Triston Puah said in a statement that the launch of the app is timely as 82% of the customers who book attractions from Wonderfly are mobile users.

Wonderfly also helps ground tour operators to upgrade their online services so they can market their products more effectively.

“There are many things to do and places to visit in Malaysia, but many attractions still operate offline so their visibility in the market is low.

“We provide services to help such offline operators embrace online marketing,” Puah said in the statement.

Another highlight of Wonderfly is that you can download e-tickets from within the app itself; these downloaded tickets can be accessed even when your phone is offline. It also offers other travel services like pocket WiFi and airport transfers.

Boost and GrabPay users can also earn extra rewards when booking an attraction through Wonderfly. –
