Driving excellence in glove-making
THERE are few that can profess ignorance of Hartalega Holdings Bhd, especially after the glove manufacturer proved its worth yet again during the inaugural Export Excellence Awards (EEA) 2019 Gala.
No stranger to the export world, Hartalega’s win as the Exporter of the Year for the Large Companies tier came as no big surprise. This followed its earlier Gold Award win under the Other Industries (Large Companies) category.
Managing director Kuan Mun Leong said that the group’s achievements were testament to Hartalega’s proven track record and leadership position in the glove manufacturing industry.
“Without a doubt, receiving this award is incredibly meaningful for us.
“It is truly an honour to be recognised for making an impact in the industry, even more so as we are ranked among other prominent Malaysian companies across various industries.
“We have a very strong team at Hartalega and I believe that this collaboration of people, dedicated effort and innovative drive has allowed us to excel,” he said.
Kuan added that the two award wins provide further impetus for the group to reinforce its competitive edge moving forward.
Not one to rest on its laurels, Hartalega has continued building its key strengths over the years in various areas, including its product portfolio, manufacturing technology and talent pool - all of which ensures that it maintains its position among the top glove manufacturing companies.
He shared, “In line with our aim to ensure sustainable growth, we will maintain our focus on product innovation as well as our strategic plans for expansion in production capacity and manufacturing efficiency to drive the group forward.”
Among Hartalega’s plans is the Next Generation Integrated Glove Manufacturing Complex (NGC), which will significantly boost production capabilities and capacity.
Upon completion, the NGC will boast a total of seven state-of-the-art manufacturing plants, which Kuan said will house ‘the most technologically advanced production lines in the industry’.
At present, NGC’S first five plants have been fully commissioned, with Plant Six currently underway and Plant Seven in the pipeline.
