Fuel efficiency with eco-friendly tech
EVERY company has been built and shaped within the moments of inspiration, coupled with perseverance, courage, confidence, patience and passion.
The history of TS Maritime Sdn Bhd began in 1996.
The company was formerly known as Team Ship Management Sdn Bhd until Feb 16, 2005.
It started by providing services such as Project Management and Marine Consultancy.
This domain service was initially developed by the founder and later on diversified into other services such as the provision of valuation, survey and inspection services, ship management services and operations and maintenance (O&M) supervision in the maritime industry.
TS Maritime is licensed under Malaysia’s Finance Ministry, Petronas and registered with the Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia.
In 2004, TS Maritime had a breakthrough when it received export orders and started exporting marine vessels such as landing crafts and tugboats.
The company is now at its second stage of re-invention to design and build innovative marine vessels for exports.
One of its milestones achieved so far is the interest the industry has shown in its SWATH design marine vessels.
TS Maritime recently received an export order to build a SWATH safari passenger boat.
The intention behind this
SWATH safari passenger boat is as a passenger vessel in the leisure cruising industry within the owners’ country.
TS Maritime is the first company in South-east Asia to build a SWATH design vessel.
Nevertheless, no one can whistle a symphony – it takes a whole orchestra to play it.
The conceptual design process has been made in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in terms of the stability and sea-keeping performance of the design. The team lend their hands in completing all the necessary testing for the prototype.
Apart from that, TS Maritime feel very passionate about this since it is currently formalising the dual-fuel SWATH Fast Crew Boat and proceeding to the newbuilding phase.
Moreover, the company is also collaborating with some international organisations to explore the usage of hybrid and dual-fuel technology marine vessels in newbuilding and conversion of existing vessels to meet the maritime industries requirement to reduce CO2 emission.
Every company wants to run its business prosperously and not just to survive.
Growth is the goal most companies, both large and small, try to achieve.
TS Maritime adopted the following strategic initiatives to grow its business and remain competitive – as money does not grow on trees, TS Maritime would like to strike while the iron is hot.
It is focusing its efforts on key business areas that are critical drivers to the core business and channelling resources to drive these business units, which are the following:
1. Valuation, Inspection, Survey and O&M Business Unit.
2. Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Project Management and Cost Control Business Unit.
3. Charter Lease Business Unit to achieve and meet sustainable and consistent long-term revenue to the company.
With the new business unit formation, TS Maritime essentially embraces the most suited ships along with the latest marine requirement, which is to meet IMO CO2 emission reduction and produce energy-saving vessels right into a new market, regionally and overseas.
