WE’RE right in the middle of the holiday season and if you have children, you’re probably already out of ideas about where to go or what to do.
To keep everyone occupied – and entertained – we’ve come up with a list of fun “activity trails” for you to check out. These trails offer some fun places to visit and stuff to do together, too.

KUALA LUMPUR
Head to the city centre where you can find lots of stuff to do around the Bukit Bintang and Ampang area.
The areas are easily accessible by public transport like the MRT and LRT, while most of the activities are inside shopping malls that are within walking distance from one another.
Museum of Illusions, Hotel Ansa
At Ansa Hotel in Bukit Bintang lies the Museum of Illusions, where you can have a visual, sensory and educational experience. Get your minds blown by the optical illusions, holograms, puzzles, interactive games, installations, unusual rooms and more. Website: museumofillusions.my/
Beast Park, Sungei Wang Plaza
In the highest floor of the Jumpa annex in Sungei Wang Plaza, adults and kids can unleash their inner beast at this newly-launched indoor activity and adventure park. Suitable for active families who also love to lepak (chill) as well as get a workout, Beast Park offers a five-in-one concept comprising a climbing gym, a playground with state-of-the-art ninja course, floating nets and training programmes.

Blastacars, Sungei Wang Plaza
Also in Sungei Wang Plaza is Blastacars, a drift karting arena with a difference. Families who love the speed and adrenaline of motorsports will enjoy it, and it is suitable for all levels, from beginner to elite. Karts have three speed settings: novice, advance or pro. There is a height requirement of 1.2m or taller (or eight years and older).
There are also triple screen race simulators for linked play or online competitions.

Petrosains Discovery Centre, Suria KLCC
Just a short distance away from the Bukit Bintang area is Suria KLCC, where you will find the Petrosains Discovery Centre. This interactive centre is not only fun but educational, too. See, hear, touch, play and interact with the exhibits and installations.
Find out more about dinosaurs, see what it is like to be on an oil drilling platform, communicate with an AI robot, and experience what it is like being in outer space, and more.
For younger kids, there is the Innovation Lab (eight years and younger) and TotSpot (toddlers).

Aquaria, KL Convention Centre
This oceanarium, located at the KL Convention Centre (which is just next to Suria KLCC), features 5,000 aquatic and land-bound creature exhibits. The state-of-theart aquarium takes you on a journey from Evolution Zone all the way to the Living Ocean, the longest underwater tunnel in Malaysia that showcases iconic local species including green sea turtles, sand tiger sharks, and giant groupers.
There are also exciting experiences such as Cage Rage (cage diving with marine creatures), Dive with Shark for certified divers, Sleep with Shark for children between six and 13 years old.

SuperPark Malaysia, Avenue K
Across the road from KLCC is the Avenue K shopping mall, where SuperPark Malaysia, an allin-one indoor activity park from Finland, is located. There are several different areas within the park including the Adventure Area, Game Arena and Freestyle Hall. The park is suitable for both adults and children, and will have different entry ticket prices throughout the day.

SELANGOR
Rapid KL train and bus services are available throughout the Klang Valley, which includes major areas within Selangor. This means that you can easily go from one suburb to another in this state, in search of fun activities!
KidZania, Curve NX
KidZania is an interactive edutainment theme park for kids aged between four and 14. This is where they can role play more than 60 real-life “jobs” and activities. Curve NX is just a short drive away from 1Utama; it is also accessible by MRT.

FlowRider, 1Utama
The sporty ones can try their body boarding or surfing skills on FlowRider, a popular surf simula
tor. There are professional instructors on hand to teach you. This activity is suitable for children but there is a minimum height of 107cm. 1Utama Shopping Centre is accessible by MRT, public buses and taxis.

Also at 1Utama Shopping Centre is AirRider, an indoor skydiving facility where adventurous folks can suit up to get a feel of the sport, without getting onto a plane or having to wear a parachute. Kids as young as three are allowed to experience this but those under 18 must have a parent or guardian’s consent.

Sunway Lagoon, Bandar Sunway
Perhaps the country’s most famous theme park, Sunway Lagoon is known for one thing – fun! There are several small parks within Sunway Lagoon: Water Park, Amusement Park, Wildlife Park, Extreme Park, Scream Park and Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon, and all are great for kids and adults of all ages.

i-City Theme Park is also known as City of Digital Lights. It comes to life at night with its colourful and brightly-lit installations. Some of the attractions here include SnoWalk, WaterWorld and ItsyBitsy. There are also interactive museums like Red Carpet 1 and Red Carpet 2 and a trick art museum.

PAHANG
If you prefer to enjoy some cooler weather during the school holidays, then head to the highlands in Pahang. These places are easily accessible by coach or car, and you can spend the night there too.
The Void, Resorts World Genting
The Void is said to be Asia’s first immersive virtual reality experience. Suit up and step into the jungle as Dr Bravestone, Ruby Roundhouse, Professor Oberon or “Mouse” Finbar in Jumanji: Reverse The Curse, a brand new immersive experience loosely based on the Jumanji films starring Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart.

Skytropolis Funland, Resorts World Genting
Skytropolis Funland is an indoor theme park that spans across four floors. The park has a carnival-like atmosphere and there are many thrilling rides for both young and older kids as well as adults, including the 200m-long Eagle Landing Zipline, the longest at a shopping mall in Malaysia. There is also a Pokemon Go store here.
