MERCEDES-Benz Malaysia has unveiled its updated GLC sports utility vehicle (SUV) line-up at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre last week.

The locally-assembled SUVs are the GLC 200, GLC 300 4MATIC and GLC 300 4MATIC Coupé priced at RM299,888, RM350,000 (estimated) and RM419,88 respectively. All prices are on-the-road without insurance.

Still in the first generation, the GLC now features muscularly sculpted surfaces and distinctive details such as the chrome elements, which run from the front to the rear end as standard.

Other changes include the redesigned LED high performance headlamps and the heavily contoured radiator grille on the GLC 200.

These are included in the Optical Off-road package along with the 20-in five-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels.

The GLC 300 4MATIC is equipped with the Night Package based on the AMG Line exterior that features striking, black design elements to underline the vehicle’s sporty and expressive character while enhancing the exclusivity and high-quality details of the exterior.

It comes with the 20-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, Multibeam LED headlamps and the panoramic sliding sunroof.

The GLC 300 Coupé is also equipped with a Night Package based on the AMG Line exterior with sport aprons and the 20-inch AMG five twin-spoke light-alloy wheels. It also comes with the Multibeam LED headlamps.

The exterior exudes an even sportier design with the imposing diamond radiator grille and at the rear features the tailpipe trim integrated into the bumper and the streamlined LED rear tail lamps.

Inside, GLC 200 and GLC 300 4MATIC are adorned with the Exclusive Line and AMG Line packages with the Artico leather upholstery featured in both variants.

The Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) comes standard across the GLC line-up with a fully-digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster display and the media display touch screen is now measured at 10.25-inches.

Meanwhile, the cabin of the GLC 300 Coupé is lined with leather upholstery and aluminium trim.

It features the MBUX and Mercedes me connect service with a fully-digital cockpit including navigation display.

The GLC range is powered by the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo engine (M264) paired to a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission but each variant is tuned differently.

As such, the GLC 200 outputs 197hp and 320Nm of torque while both the GLC 300 4MATIC and GLC 4MATIC 300 Coupe produce 258hp and 370Nm of torque.

The Mercedes me connect (Mmc) enables owners to remain connected to their vehicles whether it is starting the engine, getting customer support or simply checking their fuel level.

To begin using Mercedes me connect, owners are required to define and activate their vehicle on the Mercedes me portal where they will be conveniently guided through all the necessary steps.

The Mercedes me connect application can be downloaded from both, the Apple App Store as well as the Google Play Store.

The application is designed to work with Android and Apple devices, including the Apple Watch.

The service will be made available in 2020 onwards, starting with the new GLC range.

For customers with MercedesBenz vehicles built after 2002 without connected functionality, they will still be able to enjoy the experience of connected features through the Mercedes me Adapter.

The Mercedes me Adapter is priced at RM250 and will be available in the first quarter of 2020.
