THE International Medical University (IMU), Malaysia’s first and most established private medical and healthcare university with over 28 years of dedicated focus on healthcare education, will be hosting an Open Day on Jan 12 at its campus in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.
The day will see the university opening its doors to prospective students and their parents from 10am to 4pm to showcase its range of programmes, as well as its campus and facilities.
The Open Day will be an excellent opportunity for visitors to obtain first-hand information on how the university’s high-quality academic programmes at the pre-university, undergraduate and postgraduate levels can provide an entry to promising career opportunities.
Their staff will be on hand to answer questions about life in IMU, as well as provide advice and information on a variety of issues such as career advantages of different programmes, applying to the university, financing (including fees and financial assistance) and accommodation.
This is also an opportunity to find out more about IMU’s scholarships and bursaries for students with excellent academic results.
The academic staff will also be on hand to answer questions on two new postgraduate programmes: the Postgraduate Diploma in Endodontics and the Postgraduate Diploma in Prosthodontics.
The Postgraduate Diploma in
Endodontics programme provides the opportunity for general dental practitioners to enhance their knowledge and skills in providing evidence-based endodontic treatment of cases with different levels of difficulties.
Meanwhile, the Postgraduate Diploma in Prosthodontics Programme provides training for treatment planning and to perform procedures in treating partial or complete edentulism. The first intake for these programmes will be in April 2020.
They are open for application submissions for all their upcoming foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate intakes. Those who apply for any of the programmes during the Open Day will be eligible for a waiver of up to RM800 (except medicine and dentistry).
Visitors will also get the chance to explore the university and its facilities as well as get a taste of life at IMU. They will also be able to participate in activities conducted by staff and students and attend talks.
Current students will be on hand to act as ambassadors throughout the day, ensuring that visitors can take advantage of the talks, tours and lab demonstrations. The student-led campus tour will give prospective students a look at the on-campus educational facilities.
The tour includes all of the main areas of the campus, including the gym, student centre, catering outlets, lecture theatres, clinical skills and simulation centre, multidisciplinary and e-learning laboratories, learning resources, research laboratory and instrumental room with a tableting machine.
This will be your opportunity to learn more about the tools and technology available along with the academic support and services that the university provides to facilitate a rich learning experience.
