Staying safe this Raya

-

HARI Raya Aidilfitri is in just two days and we are sure our Muslim readers are very excited!

Did you know that Hari Raya Aidilfitri is also known as Eid-ul-fitr, Hari Raya Lebaran, Hari Raya

Idul Fitri and Hari Raya Puasa?

This year, due to the movement control order (MCO), Hari Raya will be celebrated on a smaller scale. This is necessary to keep us all safe from the Covid-19.

So children, remember to wash your hands, wear a mask in public places and practice social distancing during Hari Raya.

Here’s what our readers had to say on the topic, Stay Safe during the MCO. Here’s wishing everyone Selamat Hari Raya!

Areez Reza Haslan Farouk, nine, is looking forward to spending Hari Raya with his family. “Hari Raya is just around the corner. I’ve been helping my mum and sister bake Hari Raya cookies and cakes. Selamat Hari Raya to all

Starchild readers.

“During the MCO period, I learned how to roll dough and cut out shapes. I also learnt some gardening. Although it will be a quiet Hari Raya, I want to wish everyone Selamat Hari Raya,” says Lakshmi Panicker, six.

Yasvwan Sugamarum ,10, writes: “This year, we have to stay safe at home due to the Covid-19 virus. I feel sad that I cannot visit my Muslim friends for Hari Raya. While at home, I have been helping with chores and completing my e-tuition homework every day.”

Six-year-old Hemenath Ganesan writes: “The MCO has been a happy time for me. I get to spend more time with my parents and brother. We have been doing many exciting activities as a family. I also want to wish Selamat Hari Raya to all Muslims.”

“The MCO has given me more time to spend at home with my family. I helped my mother with some housework like watering the plants and sweeping the floor,” says Saira Abigail Terence, eight.

“Selamat Hari Raya to Starchild readers. Do stay safe during the festive season,” says Charice Long, seven.
