Lady Gaga’s top five collaborations
ON her own, Lady Gaga is already a force of nature. But sometimes, a song calls for a duet partner. Here are five Gaga collaborations that blew us away.
Rain On Me (with Ariana Grande)
It is pouring star power on Rain
On Me. But more than just a catchy dance number, it is a song of hope for the difficult times the world is currently facing. The top ladies of pop sat down and wrote the song together. It was inspired by the personal traumas they each went through and their determination to keep dancing through the pain, or should I say, rain.
Telephone (with Beyonce)
Can you believe this iconic music video was released a decade ago? Set in a women’s correctional facility, Gaga and Beyonce play a crime duo up to no good. The ladies weren’t just serving time, they were serving looks (and irresistible moves!), clad in stylish, imaginative garbs from start to finish. At a staggering nine and a half minutes-long, Telephone’s music video was such a feast for the eyes and the ears, we wish it went on longer.
Shallow (with Bradley Cooper)
Gaga showed her acting prowess in A Star Is Born, which earned her an Oscar Best Actress nomination. The film, which chronicles the relationship between a famous
Country singer (Bradley Cooper) and a rising star (Gaga), had many show-stealing musical moments. But Shallow, a tender ballad between its leads, took viewers to new depths and earned Gaga a Best Original Song Oscar along the way.
The Lady Is A Tramp (with Tony Bennett)
Gaga and jazz legend Tony Bennett’s rendition of The Lady Is
A Tramp was released at a time when she was making a name for herself in the dance-pop arena with pulsating hits like Paparazzi and Born This Way. It seemed an unlikely collaboration at first but her 2011 duet with Bennett on The
Lady Is A Tramp not only worked but it showed Gaga’s versatility. The collaboration was so successful that Gaga and Bennett teamed up and released a jazz album, Cheek
To Cheek, together in 2014.
Just Dance (with Colby O’Donis)
This list wouldn’t be complete without the song that started it all for Gaga, her very first single Just Dance. With the help of Colby O’Donis, Just Dance introduced us to Gaga’s brand of music – fun, infectious and uninhibited.
