And they call it rabbit love
IF you find your pet rabbit nudging you with its nose, take it as a compliment. It shows that the animal feels completely comfortable and very safe, and wants to play with you, according to experts from Germany’s pet care industry association (IVH).
If you understand the language of the animals, you can respond much better to their needs. You can also feel flattered by the touch of their nose, while exuberant jumping around and a curious exploration of their surroundings are also good signs.
If the rabbit rolls over and shows his belly unprotected, he has confidence in you, and feels good.
Sometimes your bunny may even lick your hand. When that happens, you can then feel that you have been officially accepted as a member of the rabbit’s family clan. The animals also express their well-being by quietly grinding, stroking or brushing their teeth.
But if your rabbit is not feeling well and is in pain, for example, it will tense up and grind its teeth noisily. If your rabbit starts behaving apathetically and his gaze clouds over, take him to the vet immediately. –dpa
