SCHOOL has re-opened after a long break due to the pandemic. We are sure that many students are happy to meet their friends and teachers again.
Have you adjusted to the new normal in school? Don’t forget to use your face mask and practice social distancing.
Always remember to wash your hands often with soap and water especially after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
If soap and water are not available, clean your hands with a hand sanitiser. Make sure that all areas of your hands are covered with the sanitiser, and then rub them together until they feel dry.
Recently, Starchild asked readers to send in letters on the topic, Back To School. Here’s what they had to say.
“I have to wake up early again for school. Wearing a face mask makes my mouth sweaty. While it isn’t comfortable, it keeps me safe from the bad virus. School is different now but my teachers are still the same,” says Bethany Wang Qi Syuen, five.
Seven-year-old Hua Xiao Min is happy to go back to school again because to be reunited with her teachers and friends. “Every morning, when I arrive at school, I have to queue up to have my temperature taken and to sanitise my hands. We also need to wear a face mask in school.”
“I was so excited to go back to school to see my teachers and friends. Each day, I ensure I put on my Frozen cloth face mask. I carry a bottle of hand sanitiser and biscuits for breaktime. I guess I need to get used to the new normal,” writes Ashvini Jeyakanthan, seven.
While Erin Sonia Colin ,11,isglad to see her friends at school, she isn’t too happy about completing her homework. “I missed my friends during the movement control order period. It’s nice to spend time with them, especially during recess. But the thing I dread most is having to revise and complete my daily schoolwork.”
ITEM: We will be celebrating
Hari Merdeka on Aug 31. This day is very important to Malaysians, as we will be celebrating 63 years of independence. This year’s theme is “Malaysia Prihatin (Malaysia Cares) which emphasises the spirit of patriotism, unity and love for the country. Starchild wants to know what makes you proud to be Malaysian.
