Beauty device for your customisation
A cosmetics company wants to make makeup more individual than ever with a new device that allows you to mix ingredients to create your own face creams and other cosmetics.
The company’s new concept device Perso lets you make moisturisers, serums and under-eye creams to your own liking, and L’oreal says users will soon be able to make their own specific shades of lipstick.
The high-tech “beauty device” will even let you factor in things like the weather, air quality and the condition of your skin to make the final result a perfect fit.
If you’ve got a favourite new yellow top, you would be able to make sure you are mixing the right makeup colours to match it with the help of the accompanying app. Things get even more high-tech when you use the app to take a selfie.
That’s when L’oreal’s Modiface technology turns on its AI to analyse your skin condition, including any wrinkles, lines, spots or pores, so your final results have all the ingredients your face needs.
The device will change its settings for morning and evening use, and it also comes with a detachable mirrored top so you can take a small or large dose with you.
L’oreal’s deputy CEO Nicolas Hieronimus says the new device will offer make-up wearers “near-limitless personalisation and precision.”
Unveiled at the annual CES tech trade fair in Las Vegas earlier this year, the Perso is not expected to go on sale until 2021.
