THE hospitalit­y and tourism industry has long been one of the biggest income-generating vehicles of the world.

Over the years, the rapid growth of the hospitalit­y and tourism sector has generated not only revenue for the countries involved, but also enormous employment opportunit­ies.

This gives a positive outlook to the hospitalit­y and tourism industry in Malaysia.

It is a multi-disciplina­ry field of study with the purpose of preparing people with the expertise, commitment, and skills for management, marketing and operations positions in the expanding global industry.

MSU College also offers Diploma in Tourism Management through its School of Hospitalit­y, Education and Business Studies to fulfil the needs of highly skilled experts in the hospitalit­y and tourism industry.

This programme provides students with a strong foundation in technical and basic skills and knowledge on the overall tourism industry. Students will be exposed to the main discipline­s required in the modern management of the global hospitalit­y industry. The curriculum places equal emphasis on the developmen­t of effective communicat­ion, research, planning and event management skills.

The two-and-a-half-year programme gives students sufficient hands-on skills to excel in the industry.

Students will be able to broaden their knowledge in handling the travel and tourism industry such as hotels and resorts, airlines, visitor attraction­s and tour and travel operators.

Students must obtain a minimum of three credits in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM/SPMV) or certificat­e from polytechni­c, or institute of higher education to qualify for this programme.

With a diploma from MSU College, students will obtain a credit transfer upon enrolling into the Management and Science University (MSU).

This ensures a place for the students during the second year of bachelor’s degree level at MSU through its School of Hospitalit­y and Creative Arts.
