AFTER months of speculations by fans, it has been confirmed that Brit group Coldplay and K-pop’s BTS are collaborating on a song.

Coldplay announced on Monday that its collaboration with BTS is titled My Universe and will be released on Sept 24.

The song is produced by Max Martin, who has worked with stars such as Britney Spears, Katy Perry and Ariana Grande.

Before you say, “What an odd pairing”, both Coldplay and BTS have been showing admiration for each other in the past few months.

The seven-piece BTS even performed a remake of Coldplay’s hit Fix You on MTV Unplugged in March. In a tweet, Coldplay gave the seal of approval for BTS’ stirring rendition.

BTS has been working with A-list artistes in the past few years. Its most recent one was with rapper Megan Thee Stallion, who was featured on a remix of Butter.

In June, Coldplay’s frontman, Chris Martin had only good things to say about BTS when asked if a collaboration with the group was a possibility.

“When it comes to BTS, I just have nothing but love and respect for them,” Martin told Popcrush.

“All seven guys, I think they’re just cool, stand for good things and sing about cool things. I love the fact that they are so huge and sing a lot in Korean, they don’t always have to sing in English.

“I love them a lot and so if the right song came along, I wouldn’t ever say no.”

My Universe, to be sung in English and Korean, is the second single to be taken from Coldplay’s upcoming album, Music Of The Spheres, due for release Oct 15.
