Hey aliens, a little help, please?

Big smile, no teeth Instead of flitting about freaking out the us airforce, how about solving our environmental and geopolitical problems, huh?

A WAR in Eastern Europe, a new report saying that humans might be headed for a catastrophic 1.5°C rise in global temperature by 2025 as the climate crisis carries on unabated – and the United States held a Congressional hearing on the current state of UFOS. Yep, all these other problems and we’re discussing unidentified flying objects. It would seem there are more pressing matters but I suppose the United States has a large government that has to tackle lots of issues at once.

If you haven’t been keeping up with it, UFOS have been coming to the forefront again but not from members of the public, from ex-members of the US armed forces, in particular the Air Force. A number of ex-pilots have reported seeing shiny objects flying around in the skies and they have the video recordings to prove it. The US government has documented over 140 of these sighting since 2004. This is what the Congres-sional hearing that began on Tuesday is all about: What are these things the air force pilots are seeing?

In the hearing it’s clear no one knows. Not really.

There have been a few explained cases. In one instance the aircraft were passing a drone at high speeds which made it look like something more foreign, but there are many other cases that are completely unexplained.

The majority of these cases happen around coastal areas which fits with the hypothesis that these could be some form of foreign surveillance vessel. The issue with that is that the way in which these objects move cannot be explained by technology on Earth today. According to the pilots who saw these things, they dart up and down and back and forth as if gravity doesn’t apply to them.

“We’re not aware of any adversary that is capable of flying an aircraft without any discernible means of propulsion,” US deputy director of Naval Intelligence Scott Bray said in a recent Reuters article.

It really doesn’t sound like any technology any country has. Not on this planet anyway.

But if these are alien space craft, what is going on?

I ask this because if aliens are flying around our planet and they haven’t introduced themselves or stopped to enslave us all, then it stands to reason they don’t want to make contact with us. For whatever reason.

In the legendary sci-fi TV series Star Trek, the Federation of Planets doesn’t make contact with civilisations until they’re ready to be contacted. For example, if the people on a planet look like they might still nuke each other into oblivion the Federation says, “Hey, maybe we should wait and see if these folks grow up”. Perhaps there is something like this going on? Some kind of surveillance of our planet by aliens. Except, if the aliens have such great technology that they can fly here from across the universe, and watch us largely in secret, then why have we spotted them over 140 times in the past couple of decades? That seems like a bit of a colossal blunder, to be spotted in your super high-tech invisible spacecraft by a bunch of apes flying planes.

Maybe the aliens aren’t as switched on as we’d like to think. Maybe they’re basically just like we would be if we were capable of space travel. Sure, we’d like to stay hidden and run surveillance on a planet but then some of us are just knuckleheads that would park the spacecraft without remembering to make it invisible. And then the US Navy pilots fly up on it and next thing you know there’s a Congressional hearing.

So maybe these UFOS are aliens. And maybe there is something happening. Or maybe everything the pilots are seeing are just drones and tricks of the light or who knows what. Bray did say “We have no material, we have detected no emanations, within the UAP task force that would suggest it is anything nonterrestrial in origin.” (The United States has decided to officially call UFOS, UAPS, unidentified aerial phenomena. What’s the difference you ask? Beats me.)

But then they also don’t have any evidence that Martians aren’t parking their spacecraft in our atmosphere and forgetting to press the invisi-ship button.

If there are aliens visiting Earth, I hope you’re seeing what kind of environmental and geopolitical issues we’re having and can offer some kind of help instead of blundering about in our skies slightly freaking out the US Airforce.
