Medal haul a proud achievement
MANAGEMENT and Science University (MSU) has emerged top 20 in the latest Sukan Institusi Pendidikan Tinggi (SUKIPT). Overall, MSU bagged two golds, one silver and five bronze medals.
SUKIPT 2022 opened with MSUrians winning in karate, with Lim Hui Ling of MSU College Penang bagging a gold in the Women’s Individual Kata (Form) category, and Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHLS) Bachelor in Forensic Science (Hons) student Sarmatha Tamilmaran a bronze in the Women’s Individual, 50kg, Kumite category.
Meanwhile MSU’s taekwondo team clinched a gold and bronze respectively through Lavinnia Subramaniam from the Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies (FBMP) Bachelor in Accountancy in Women’s Taekwondo Kyorugi, 49-53kg category and Ruvindran David of FBMP’s Bachelor in Marketing with Psychology in Men’s, 58-63kg.
The MSU team added a silver and another bronze from Karate respectively through Women’s Individual, 68kg, Kumite category by FBMP’s Bachelor in Accounting and Finance (Hons) student Shalini Rajandran, and Men’s Individual, 67kg, Kumite by Bachelor in International Business (Hons) student Dhinesh Kumar Marimuthu of MSU Learning Centre Penang.
Another bronze contribution came from Silat and one more bronze from Karate as well as athletic 3,000m Steeplechase.
In the Puteri category Class B of Silat is Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering (FISE) Bachelor in Computer Forensic (Hons) student Amira Amri, while in Karate, Women’s Team, Kumite, are FBMP’s Bachelor in Accounting and Finance (Hons) student Shalini Rajandran and Bachelor in Law and Commerce (Hons) student Jayanitha Arumugam, as well as FHLS’s Bachelor in Forensic Science (Hons) student Sarmatha Tamilmaran and Diploma in Sport Science student Kayathiri Alagenthran.
In Athletic Men’s 3,000m Steeplechase, MSU was represented by Arun Nadarajah from MSU College Shah Alam.
While for golf, MSU is represented by IMS’ Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) students Pavithran Sankar and Muhammad Danial Nur Hakim Yusharifuddin as well as FHLS’s Bachelor in Cardiovascular Technology (Hons) student Haziq Aneef Mustaffa.
Fifteen players represented MSU in SUKIPT 2022 badminton – FBMP’s Bachelor in International Business (Hons) students Khor Jun Yuan and Mooghillen Genesan and Bachelor in Accountancy (Hons) student Rajes Shree Murali, FHLS’s Chiew Joshun (Bachelor in Bioinformatics [Hons]), Lee Tong Qi (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology), Naveen Kumar Naidu Chandra Mohan Naidu (Bachelor of Biomedical Science [Hons]), and Nurul Najihah Rahmat (Bachelor in Cardiovascular Technology [Hons]), FISE’s Syed Muhammad Imadudden Syed Mustaffa (Bachelor in Computer Science [Hons]), Puteri Lysa Mysara Hamdan (Diploma in Computer Forensic) and Aiman Izzat Kamaruddin (Diploma in Computer Engineering), IMS’ MBBS students Michelle Ling Yue Xuan and Nur Fathi Hilmi Mohd Sazali, as well as SESS’ Hidayah Izzati Mohd Hamidi (Bachelor in Psychology [Hons]) and Bachelor in Education – TESL (Hons) students Pracilla Roy Peter and Muhamad Fikri Daud.
