Shaping the future of healthcare
“KPJ Damansara Specialist Hospital 2 (DSH2) operates on five key pillars which are People First, Preventive Care, Technology Driven, Integrated Clinical Excellence, as well as Collaboration and Innovation,” shares Dr Ahmad Syukri Jamaludin, DSH2’S chief executive officer.
The hospital opened its doors to the public in September last year, symbolising a new era for KPJ Healthcare that is committed to innovation and a transformative healthcare experience.
Revolutionising clinical services
DSH2 seeks to stand out as a model of excellence in healthcare as it harnesses the potential of the latest technologies such as the 3-Tesla (T) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), the Biplane Angiography Suite and Hololens devices to enhance healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes.
Dr Syukri elaborates, “The Hololens, for example, is used for preoperative surgical planning when we do CT or MRI scans for patients. We use this to help explain to patients and their family members on how we would approach the operation.”
Building a healthy future
In addition to providing exceptional medical care, DSH2 recognises the importance of preventive care in promoting long-term health and reducing the burden of chronic diseases. The hospital goes beyond treating illnesses; it also takes a proactive approach to educating patients about disease prevention.
Furthermore, the hospital strives to cultivate a culture of proactive healthcare by actively engaging with the community. This includes initiatives such as offering complimentary health check-ups to companies, universities and the public at various events.
Dr Syukri notes “At DSH2, we offer a wide range of health screening services to cater to various patient needs. Our approach focuses on ensuring prompt treatment for any abnormalities or conditions identified during the preventive or screening process.”
Enhancing the healing journey
DSH2 also recognises the importance of a holistic experience that promotes healing, comfort and overall well-being.
Upon stepping into DSH2, visitors are instantly captivated by the lobby’s resemblance to a luxurious five-star hotel, radiating elegance and sophistication. The hospital also goes beyond visual appeal, taking pride in curating a serene atmosphere with carefully selected background music and delightful fragrances that enrich the overall experience.
The hospital also incorporates nature into its surroundings, allowing visitors to connect with natural beauty, thus promoting a sense of serenity and wellbeing.
Dr Syukri adds, “When it comes to nonclinical services, we prioritise creating an exceptional ambience that appeals to all five senses, including sight, sound, smell, taste and touch.”
He says such efforts are needed to deliver superior service as it strives to become a pioneering example in the healthcare industry.
