Nestle set to maintain share of coffee market
KUALA LUMPUR: Nestle (M) Bhd, which enjoys a 55% market share in the coffee segment, is confident of maintaining this with the growing demand for its coffee this year.
Business executive manager (beverages) Sherif Hani said the beverage segment in Malaysia offered many opportunities as on average, six million Malaysians drank coffee daily.
“We have various ranges of coffee tailored to personal preferences: pure soluble coffee, coffee mix, ready-to-drink as well as customised coffee. Our market share in coffee has been stable over the years,” he said.
Sherif was speaking after the launch of the 75th anniversary celebration of Nescafe.
Nestle managing director Alois Hofbauer said that during the twomonth campaign, customers would take home special limited-edition Nescafe collectables.
“It is our way of thanking our customers and we want them to know that we are committed to providing them with the best-tasting and quality coffee,” he said.
