5,000 Perodua Myvi bookings before official launch

-

PUTRAJAYA: The new 2017 Perodua Myvi has received 5,000 bookings before its official launch.

“Almost 78% of the bookings are for the 1.5litre variants.

“The most popular colour is Granite Grey,” said Perodua President and CEO Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh.

The new Myvi was launched by International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre.

The new Myvi, which is priced from RM44,300 to RM55,300, also received the maximum 5-Star safety rating by ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme for South-East Asian Countries).

A 5-year/150,000 km warranty is standard. The new Myvi comes in five variants, consisting of three 1.3-litre and two 1.5-litre models.

All Myvi variants also have anti-lock brak- ing system, electronic brake distribution and vehicle stability control.

The 1.5-litre variants come with six airbags while four airbags are standard on 1.3-litre variants.

The 1.5-litre variants also have a built-in toll reader for a Touch ‘n Go card, which means the driver does not need a SmartTAG device.

The top 1.5-litre Advance variant also has Advanced Safety Assist, a suite of advanced safety features that comprise pre-collision warning, pre-collision braking, front departure alert and the pedal mis-operation control.

“This new model features technology which was before this only available in premium cars,” said Aminar.

“These features are a first for this price segment. However safety is still in the hands of the driver and the system is only there to assist,” he added.
