Innovative publisher believes in the power of print
HARMANDAR Singh aka Ham, owner of Sledgehammer Communications has done it again. He walks bravely into new territory; against the longparroted “print is dead” kind of lament and prints.
Not just one issue a month but two; making Marketing magazine a bi-monthly from 2018 onwards. Sledgehammer Commu-nications is a firm believer in the power of print and this recent decision to publish once in two weeks is a step contrary to the trend.
Marketing magazine founder and publisher, Harmandar Singh, jokingly said: “We are on a suicide mission to prove that print is not dead and we are having fun doing it.”
Innovation and transforming an idea radically excites this local publisher and advertising maverick, who just completed 20 years of printing Marketing.
When Sledgehammer celebrated its 20th anniversary last year, the magazine innovated with a special, personalised edition cover, featuring the reader on each cover for 3,000 copies.
Again, recently, as a promotional video to advertise the Sledgehammer event, MMC, Ham scripted an amusing parody of the famous Hitler video that went viral and tickled many.
Last week, the magazine sprung another surprise with an audio recording for their upcoming workshop, spoofing on Obama-like-voice, in their promotions.
