Peu­geot 3008 SUV wins MAI Car of the Year 2018 award

PETALING JAYA: The Peu­geot 3008 SUV has won the Malaysia Au­to­mo­tive In­sti­tute (MAI) Car of the Year 2018 award.

Naza Corp Hold­ings au­to­mo­tive group CEO Datuk Sam­son Anand Ge­orge, who re­ceived the award, said: “It is a great hon­our for Peu­geot Malaysia to re­ceive this cov­eted award as it stands as a tes­ta­ment to the Peu­geot 3008 SUV’s en­dur­ing pop­u­lar­ity.

“Be­ing a cel­e­brated SUV (sport-util­ity ve­hi­cle) the world over, the Peu­geot 3008 SUV re­ceived more than 60 in­ter­na­tional awards and ac­co­lades so far and with 430,000 units sold world­wide.

“The Peu­geot 3008 SUV proved its met­tle in Malaysia as our best-sell­ing model in the coun­try, and we will con­tinue to of­fer best qual­ity prod­ucts to the mar­ket.”

Adopt­ing the lat­est stylis­tic codes of the French mar­que, the Peu­geot 3008 SUV af­firms its char­ac­ter­is­tics with a unique blend of style, com­fort and road han­dling.

It fea­tures cut­ting-edge tech­nol­ogy in­clud­ing the innovative and state-of-the-art Peu­geot i-Cock­pit, a 12.3-inch head-up dig­i­tal in­stru­ment dis­play and an 8-inch ca­pac­i­tive touch­screen with Mir­ror Screen func­tion­al­ity, com­pris­ing An­droid Auto, Ap­ple CarPlay and Mir­ror Link.

In the area of oc­cu­pant pro­tec­tion, the Peu­geot 3008 SUV comes with a wide-rang­ing set of tech­no­log­i­cal equip­ment en­sur­ing high safety stan­dards.

Naza Group, which has Kia as one of its au­to­mo­tive fran­chise brands, also took home MPV of the Year – Be­low RM200,000 award for the Kia Grand Car­ni­val 2.2D SX fam­ily MPV.

Pre­vi­ously, the Peu­geot 3008 SUV was awarded Euro­pean Car of the Year 2017 at the Geneva Mo­tor Show and two Red Dot Prod­uct De­sign awards for its innovative achieve­ments in de­sign.

The Peu­geot 3008 SUV is also the third Peu­geot to win the hon­orary ti­tle of Car of the Year.

The Peu­geot 308 Turbo and Peu­geot RCZ won Car of the Year at the NST-May­bank Car of the Year awards in 2009 and 2011, re­spec­tively.
