TSR unit wins subcontract job for Gemas-Johor Baru double track project
PETALING JAYA: TSR Capital Bhd has received a RM307mil subcontract job for the Gemas-Johor Baru electrified double-tracking project from Syarikat Pembenaan Yeoh Tiong Lay Sdn Bhd.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, TSR said its subsidiary, TSR Bina, had received a letter of award for work at one of the sections in civil works, including site clearance and embankment earthwork with all associated works. The company said the work is expected to commence this month and be completed by March 2020.
The Gemas-Johor Baru double-tracking project involves the construction of 197km of double tracks, stations, electric trains, depots, land viaducts, bridges, and electrification and signalling systems.
“TSR Bina has successfully completed the Klang Valley mass rapid transit (MRT) Sungai Buloh–Kajang line Kajang Depot and the MRT Sungai Buloh–Serdang–Putrajaya line Serdang Depot earthworks. Besides that, we are also carrying out the Kuantan Port City link road project under the East Coast Economic Region Development.
“With our vast experience in earthwork and infrastructure works, we expect this new contract to contribute positively to the group’s earnings and net assets per share for the financial years ending June 30, 2019 and 2020,” said chief operating officer Datuk Wan Abd Razak Ismail in a separate statement.
The Gemas-Johor Baru rail double-tracking project is reported to cost RM12.4bil and is expected to be completed in April 2021.
