EWI achieves another milestone with JV partner
RM2.87bil Wardian London project reaches topping out stage
LONDON: Eco World International Bhd (EWI) has achieved another milestone with its joint venture partner, UK-based international property developer Ballymore following the “topping out” of its £566mil (RM2.87bil) residential project Wardian London located in London Docklands.
Overlooking the South Dock and adjacent to Canary Wharf, the 57-storey Wardian London is on track for its targeted handover in the third quarter of FY2020.
With two blocks of residential towers comprising 629 private residential units and 138 units of affordable housing, Wardian London has registered a take-up rate of 84% to date.
Speaking at the “topping out” ceremony, EWI executive vice chairman Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin said: “It has been a great pleasure to see the development take shape and become one of the most highly-anticipated housing developments in London, and I am delighted to be able to celebrate its topping-out today – a momentous occasion for EcoWorld Ballymore.”
Designed in collaboration with Glenn Howells Architects, Wardian London offers residents a unique opportunity to benefit from green spaces whilst being just minutes away from one of London’s most vibrant and well-connected commercial centres.
Throughout the development, Wardian cases (glass terrariums) can be found filled with exotic trees and plants that are completely new to the UK, which have matured alongside the project due to being procured up to two years prior to installation.
Suites, one and two-bedroom apartments and penthouses at Wardian London range from 500 sq ft to 1,800 sq ft, at an average price per sq ft of £1,200.
Ballymore Group chairman and group chief executive Sean Mulryan commented that Ballymore has owned the site where Wardian now stands, for 25 years.

Embassy Gardens in Nine Elms (Zone 1) and London City Island in Leamouth Peninsula (Zone 2) have recorded take-up rates of 68% and 85%, respectively.
