Kiplepay launches plate recognition system

-

PETALING JAYA: Green Packet Bhd’s unit, kiplepay Sdn Bhd, has launched its kiplepark licence plate recognition (LPR) system in Penang, in line with the state government’s smart city initiatives.

The first site in Penang to deploy the kiplepark LPR is mixed property development, The Promenade, built by property developer Lion Group.

The kiplepark LPR is a parking system that utilises artificial intelligence (AI) technology which allows cashless payment with no physical tickets required.

In a press release, Lion Group Property senior property manager Tan Aik Shong said the kiplepark LPR system is an opportunity to address drivers’ common daily frustrations, as AI and big data make waves in the digital world.

Working alongside the Lion Group is Gading Setia Harta which currently manages The Promenade as well as parking operator Smart Control Systems (SCS).

SCS director Wong Boon Long said: “When we started deploying kiplepark LPR in September 2019, we received great responses from our residents, retailers and even shopping patrons.

“Although the technology is relatively new, we can see that the people here have embraced it well and find it convenient to use, giving users a hassle free, VIP experience.”

Going forward, Lion Group aims to extend this seamless and value-added user experience to all the communities that it currently serves through the deployment of kiplepark LPR in both of its existing and future developments which includes major townships, high-rise serviced suites, office towers, industrial parks and shopping malls.
