Unisem net profit more than doubled

KUALA LUMPUR: Unisem (M) Bhd’s net profit has more than doubled to Rm33.95mil for the second quarter ended June 30, 2020, from Rm14.45mil in the corresponding period last year.

The semiconductor manufacturer attributed its earnings growth to higher sales volume as well as the appreciation of US dollar against the ringgit.

During the quarter in review, Unisem’s revenue rose 10.3% to Rm310.08mil from Rm281.12mil in the corresponding period a year ago on higher sales volumes. Earning per share rose to 4.67 sen from 1.99 sen a year ago.
