PETALING JAYA: YTL Communications (YES) has launched “5G for All”, a faster Internet service that paves the way for Malaysians to have access to 5G anytime.

Chief executive officer Datuk Wing K. Lee said YES is a full-fledged telco with 92% coverage in Malaysia.

“We target 40% consumers by the end of this year and the 5G coverage area will be 80% within three years with all-accessible to all Malaysians,” Wing added.

Chief marketing officer Ren Yeoh said: “With prices of goods increasing under the current inflationary climate, we are instead bringing down data prices by 300% to a mere 30 sen per GB with our newest data and free device plans while offering speeds that are 20 times faster.

He said the Infinite series of plans have been developed with customers in mind.

“With Infinite high-speed data at all times regardless of 4G or 5G, customers can enjoy 20 times faster speed at 300% cheaper prices.

“There is no longer any need to worry about having to top up or buy add-ons. The price for each plan is effectively a price cap, the more you consume the cheaper it gets.

“We are committed to offer a value-for-money 5G experience to serve Yes customers better every day,” he added.

The 5G average download speed is over 665 Megabits per second (Mbps), over 15 times faster than the 4G, with 44.1Mbps.

For consumers who do not have a 5G-compatible smartphone, the Yes Infinite+ 36-month contract allows customers to get a free 5G smartphone. There will be no upfront payment, no hidden charges and no bill shock.

Renowned device brands Oppo, Samsung, Vivo and Xiaomi have established partnerships with Yes to journey together in championing 5G for Malaysians.
