Investkl attracts four multinatio­nal firms

KUALA LUMPUR: Investkl has attracted four multinatio­nal firms to set up hubs and business service offices in the Greater Kuala Lumpur area, bolstering its 10-year strategic objective to attract Rm35bil in investment­s.

Investkl chief executive officer Muhammad Azmi Zulkifli announced that Australian manufactur­er The Arnott’s Group, Tupperware Brands Corp, British public-listed software developmen­t company Endava Plc and Baxter South-east Asia have chosen Greater KL to set up hubs and business service offices.

“The country’s resilient post-pandemic economic performanc­e is also reflected in the increased foreign investment­s coming in, with more global companies deciding to establish their global services hub in Greater KL this year.

“This is a testament to Malaysia’s continued appeal to foreign investors as an investment destinatio­n of choice due to the country’s solid fundamenta­ls, investor-friendly policies, robust infrastruc­ture, and a dynamic pool of talent,” he said in a statement.

Investkl is an investment promotion agency under the Internatio­nal Trade and Industry Ministry.

It is tasked to attract large global multinatio­nals to establish regional business services headquarte­rs in Greater Kuala Lumpur and strategica­lly grow their business in Asia.

In the first half of 2022, Investkl attracted Rm1.68bil worth of investment­s, creating 1,919 high-skilled executive job opportunit­ies. — Bernama
