Puah appointed as Incite Foodtech CEO

THE board of directors of Incite Foodtech Sdn Bhd has announced the appointmen­t of Karen S Puah as its chief executive officer (CEO).

“Puah created a lasting impression on the board with her vision, intellect and profession­alism.

“She has made a tremendous impact during her time at the Fintech Associatio­n of Malaysia, She Loves Tech, and we have no doubt that she will continue this momentum as our CEO,” according to chairman Vincent Kok.

She Loves Tech is the world’s largest accelerati­on platform for women and technology.

Former president of the Malaysian Fintech Associatio­n and Ambassador of She Loves Tech, Puah has more than two decades of experience in the advertisin­g, fast-moving consumer goods and finance industries.

This has allowed her to develop a unique regional experience and market viewpoint.

Coupled with her extensive financial network, she is able to provide insights that will contribute to the expansion of the firm, the company said in a statement.

“I always see myself as being a part of a game-changing entity, and I see Incite Foodtech as one of them.

“Right now, the venture focuses on food tech, but in the coming months we’re going to unlock its potential and expand to consumer tech, embedded with fintech, with an initial public offering being the ultimate aim,” she said.

The 2021 Asia’s Most Influentia­l Leader (Malaysia) holds an MBA in Entreprene­urship from Asia euniversit­y and a diploma in Islamic Finance from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountant­s in London.

Incite Foodtech is a food tech venture headquarte­red in Kuala Lumpur.

The venture creates and acquires quickservi­ng-beverage-and-food or QSBF brands that satisfy customer needs and sentiment by leveraging on big data.

With its unique “plug-in and scale” business model, Incite Foodtech supercharg­es QSBF brands developmen­t in a variety of formats.

These include physical outlets, shared space, kiosks and cloud kitchens.

As of the third quarter of this year, the company operated in more than 25 locations with nine brands under its QSBF brands portfolio – Union Artisan Coffee, Hope Coffee, Undergroun­d Burger, Eggdicted, Lada Merah, Wondermama, Halley, Goodbooch and K-pop Grille.

The venture strives to be recognised as one of the top ten food technology companies in the world.
