MAHB net loss narrows to Rm9mil in 3Q

LUMPUR: Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) is making concerted efforts in seeking out revenue generation and actively unlocking untapped opportunit­ies to strengthen its financial position.

“In addition, MAHB continues to take preemptive measures in implementi­ng a cost optimisati­on plan as well as continue its cash conservati­on measures.

“These measures include recalibrat­ing operationa­l efficienci­es – re-basing cost, operationa­l process flow review and prioritisi­ng capital expenditur­e to conserve cash reserves to ensure that the group is able to meet its financial and operationa­l obligation­s,” MAHB said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

In the third quarter ended Sept 30, MAHB’S net loss narrowed to Rm9.03mil against Rm182.3mil a year ago.

Revenue jumped 87.2% to Rm863.6mil from Rm461.33mil achieved last year while loss per share narrowed to 1.42 sen from 11.86 sen previously.

For the first nine months to Sept 30, MAHB posted a net loss of Rm171.94mil, or 12.96 sen loss per share, on revenue of Rm2.12bil.
